For Contractors
Quoted is the honest way to get home improvement work. Every project arrives with the price already set and the homeowner already sold. No bidding wars. No free estimates. No knocking doors. You accept the jobs that fit you, and homeowners choose you based on your quality work and value.
How It Works
Browse available projects in Iowa. Scope, materials, locked price: all visible before you decide anything.
No competing. One project, one contractor at a time. If it's not for you, pass. No penalty.
The homeowner already agreed to the price. You measure, confirm scope, and get to work. No selling required.
The Honest Comparison
Here’s what contractors actually pay on the big platforms versus Quoted — side by side, with sources.
| Quoted | Angi Leadsformerly HomeAdvisor | Thumbtack | Google Local Services | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | A real project — scoped, priced, and locked. One contractor at a time. | A homeowner’s contact info — a “lead” | A contact when a customer reaches out | A call or message from a Google search ad |
| You pay when | A homeowner picks you. That’s it. | Per contact — whether or not the job happens1 | Per contact — whether or not the job happens2 | Per contact — whether or not the job happens; roofing averages ~$162 each3 |
| Monthly or annual fee | $0 | Annual membership + monthly spend minimums reported1 | $0, but you fund contact charges | $0, but you fund a per-contact budget |
| Homeowner picked someone else? | You pay $0. | You already paid — and their own policy says losing the job isn’t creditable4 | You already paid — refunds mostly land as platform credit2 | You already paid — manual disputes ended in 2024; auto-credits cover a small share of spend3 |
| Same homeowner sold to multiple pros? | Never. One contractor per project. | Reportedly sold to 3–8 pros5 | Contacts typically shared with multiple pros5 | The contact is yours — but you’re ranked against every advertiser in your area |
| Price set before you show up | Yes — scoped and locked, visible before you accept | No — you estimate on-site, free | No — you estimate on-site, free | No — you estimate on-site, free |
| Bidding war | None. You’re chosen on reviews, work, and fit. | You compete against every other pro who bought the same contact | Same | Ranked auction for who shows up first |
Competitor terms as published or reported by contractors as of mid-2026 — sources below. “Lead” is their word, not ours. Worth knowing: in 2023 the FTC ordered HomeAdvisor (now part of Angi) to pay up to $7.2M over deceptive claims about the quality of the leads it sold to contractors.6
~3 jobs a month came out of that. They priced the lead. They never priced the year.
So why does nobody notice $30,000? Because it hides in here:
Just 5.5% of gross, dripped out $75 at a time — never one bill big enough to question. But cut that spend and it doesn’t come back as 5.5% — it lands on your bottom line, dollar for dollar.
You know this move — it’s payment framing: quote the small number, never say the total out loud.
And by Angi’s own shareholder letter, only 2 of every 10 homeowner requests end with an Angi pro hired at all9 — our ledger below still gives them 1 in 10. The FTC has barred HomeAdvisor from unsubstantiated claims about how often its leads become jobs.6
Run Your Own Numbers
Meet Company A: three sales reps, $2,500 a month on a contacts platform, and a good month — three $15,000 bath projects closed out of ~75 paid chances.5 Here’s the honest ledger.
Nearly 25 cents of every gross dollar went to selling — before marketing, which we didn’t even count. ~72 of those paid chances went nowhere, charged anyway. Left after selling: $33,900.
Left after selling: $42,750 — $8,850 more than the old way, every month. Over a year that’s $106,200 back in the business — and the fee only ever existed on jobs that were already yours.

Before you apply
The market does — including you. Every project is priced at the going rate for that work in your area: a rolling average of what local contractors charge, with the extreme highs and lows stripped out so no lowballer or gouger can drag it. When you activate, you set your own rates, and they feed that number. You see the full locked price before you accept — take it or pass, no penalty either way.
Every quote builds in a buffer for normal mismeasures — that’s what keeps the number honest. The price moves for exactly three reasons: a genuine code requirement found during the job, something behind a wall nobody could see, or the homeowner asking for more. When one of those is real, you and the homeowner settle it directly. The locked price is the promise this whole platform runs on — in both directions.
Every project starts with clarity of scope, and the price is locked. You’re chosen for your value and your quality of work.
No chasing. No bid wars. Skip the BS.
