Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info: name, email, password (encrypted), phone number
• Project info: property address, ZIP code, project type, your selections in the quote builder, locked price
• Technical info: browser type, IP address (for security), interaction logs (which pages you visited)
• Public property data: when you provide an address, we may look up free public data (e.g., Google Solar API for roof sqft, county property records) to pre-fill the survey.
• Payment info (contractors only): contractors pay the project acceptance fee through Stripe. Stripe handles the card; we keep only the payment reference it returns, never the card number. Homeowners pay their contractor directly, so we don't process homeowner card payments.

2. What we don't collect

• We never see or store your full card number. Stripe processes all card payments and holds the card, not us.
• We do not collect data from minors.

3. How we use it

• To create and run your Quoted account.
• To build accurate quotes (using property data).
• To match you with contractors after you select one.
• To verify contractor licenses and reviews.
• To send you transactional emails (account confirmations, project status).
• To improve the service (anonymized analytics).

4. Who we share with

• Contractors: Before you select one, contractors see only your project details and ZIP code. Never your name, phone, or address. After you select and they accept, your contact info is released to that one contractor only.
• Service providers: Supabase (hosting + auth + database), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Anthropic (AI that checks your project photos match the described work). They handle data only to provide their service to us, and cannot use it for anything else.
• Advertising & analytics platforms: Google (Analytics, Ads) and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) receive event data — page views, conversions, hashed identifiers — to help us measure ad performance and reach similar audiences. We never share your name, phone, or address with them.
• Legal: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, we may disclose data.

5. Who we never share with

• Anyone who pays us for your contact info. We don't sell your data.
• Data brokers.
• Project-auction marketplaces that send your project to many contractors at once.
• Anyone, ever, for marketing-list compilation.

6. Your rights

You can:

• View your data: sign in to your dashboard.
• Update your data: edit your profile or contact us.
• Delete your account: email us and we'll delete within 30 days (we may retain transaction records as required by law).
• Export your data: email us for a JSON export of everything we have on you.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies (login session, your in-progress quote draft) and advertising cookies from Google and Meta that help us measure how our own ads perform — for example, whether an ad led someone to build a quote. These do not let us, Google, or Meta sell your personal information. We never load data-broker trackers, and we never sell your data.

8. Data security

Passwords are hashed (we never see them). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We follow industry best practices for our scale. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever detect a breach involving your data, we'll notify you promptly.

9. Children

Quoted is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll note it with an updated date and (for significant changes) notify you by email.
